My Plans for Today.
Today, quelonzia undergoes cataract surgery, replacing the clouded lens of one eye with an artificial implant. The other will be done some time in December.

On the other side of the country, today, my oldest sister is having breast cancer surgery.

If things go well, this should result in marked improvements for each of them. I could handle either situation individually with equanimity; knowing that both surgeries are happening roughly simultaneously is a bit much to wrap my head around.

So... I'm a little stressed and distracted right now, and the last thing on my mind are my plans for the holiday season.

(Note: Quel reads my journal, so if you want to send her your best, you can do so here.)

I feel: stressedstressed

Hope she does well, Aeth.

My good thoughts to you all.

The lens replacement _will_ greatly improve life. And while no surgery is minor, recovering can be amazingly fast. The biggest problem for my mom (who's had both eyes done) was not being able to wash her hair in the shower. If she can lean back into a sink with a towel over her eyes (like they do at a hair-cut place) and get help, it works well.

saying a prayer and waving the pointy sticks for both of 'em, athebabe.

Get well soon, quel!

Best wishes for all of you.

And I think, once all this surgery and Turkey Day stuff is done with, that we're overdue for dim sum.

Love you (both). Quel, I hope you're up and around and happybouncy by the time you read this. Athelind, it's rough, but people are stronger than they think they are, and I think you're at least as strong as anyone I know. The wave buries you, and you'd think the boat was gone forever, but a moment later there it is on top of the world.

I have faith in you- and you can take that in all possible combinations.

*HUGS* for all of the Ath/Quel family. :)

Aww, Quel's not going to go cyberdragon? *grin* I hear x-ray vision is all the rage these days in the young-folk.

And I hope that they get as much of the cancer as is conceivably possible.

Seems to be the season...I've got a friend in chemo and two other people who may be going in for various reproductive-bits surgery. But for all of them and you, you have my (and the hubby's) prayers.

Love and chocolate,
Beth

Built-in synthetic multi-focus progressive lenses that replace, not just glasses, but BIFOCALS? That seems sufficiently transdragon to me!
