Writer's Block: Brush with stardom
Have you ever stumbled across a celebrity in your daily life? Was it more or less exciting than you would have expected? Do you have any interest in meeting media stars?

Oddly, this came up in conversation with thoughtsdriftby just this morning:

I buried Robert A. Heinlein.

The question specified "daily life", so I'm not going to count the numerous writers, artists and actors I've met at science fiction conventions.

There was also the time the family visited New Orleans, circa 1980, when the Captain and Tennille were filming a TV special, and we kept running into them every time we turned a corner.

It really does make it difficult when you're involved in stuff like we are, when at least minor celebrities become friends or friends of friends, or at least you have some sort of personal story to tell about an encounter with them.

When you can talk with someone about a book or movie and say, even occasionally "and they're a great person too" it becomes somewhat funny.

Huh, never did read that old entry. Well I must say way to go, for giving the master a proper send off. ^^
