1. Copy and paste your LJ Friends List into an update and leave behind an LJ Cut.
2. If you've met them in person or otherwise know them from the offline world, bold their screenname. If you've only talked to them on the phone, italicize their name. If you've only talked to them online, leave their name alone. If you have someone on your Friends List who has multiple LJ's, only use one and get rid of the rest from the list.
3. Post and let other people copy the meme.

Edit: Oops! Shouldn't do this sort of thing after midnight. I missed this part: If you have someone on your Friends List who has multiple LJ's, only use one and get rid of the rest from the list. I've fixed the list accordingly -- though in some cases, I've kept multiple entries up to preserve secret identities. Muah hah hah.

I'm actually quite surprised at the number of bolds on the list (though after eliminating the dopplegangers, the ratio isn't quite so impressive). I'm less surprised by the lack of italics -- I meet a lot of folks in person at cons, but with rare exceptions, I have to know you in person first before you get my phone number. That's kind of strange, in a way: my face is less "private" than just my voice.

There are some folks on the list that I genuinely can't remember if I've met or not, and I apologize if I've skipped you.

White Wolf Gets A Clue

Previous Entry: White Wolf Wants LARPers To Pay Them For Advertising

Looks like they listened to Cory -- sort of. They've pulled the license fee requirement for LARPs with entry fees, and are going to talk to the "major LARP organizations" to "to hammer out license terms that address their needs and ours, and don't penalize the player community".

I do hope that while they're addressing the needs of the major organizations and the company, they don't tromp on the minor ones and the small-timers. I could easily see them deciding that the best way to "ensure that each game is the best it can be" is to crowd out everyone but the "major" organizations.
